STRICT IMPLEMENTATION OF HELMET USE IN THE PROVINCE IS ENDORSED BY THE NORTHERN SAMAR-PPOC

 The Northern Samar Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) chaired by Governor Edwin Ongchuan passed a resolution for the strict enforcement of helmet use and other traffic and road safety laws within Northern Samar. The resolution was approved during the recent Joint PPOC-Provincial Development Council Meeting at the Provincial Capitol in response to motor vehicle accidents in the province, The increase in vehicular accidents has been attributed to inadequate observance of traffic laws such as drunk driving, unlicensed driving, and non-use of helmets. NORTHERN SAMAR POLICE UNDERGO SURPRISE MANDATORY DRUG TESTING

The Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO) remains resolute in its mission to combat illegal drug use not only within the community but also within its ranks, demonstrating its dedication to public service and accountability. The NSPPO, under the leadership of Provincial Director PCOL SONNIE B OMENGAN, conducted a surprise mandatory drug test for all its personnel today, December 9, 2024.  The testing took place immediately after the regular Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on December 9, 2024, at the NSPPO Covered Court and was facilitated by the Provincial Forensic Unit. 3.18MW MAWO HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT GROUNDBREAKING CONDUCTED

 Northern Samar/November 12, 2024---To address and bring clean, affordable power to the province, the groundbreaking ceremony has been conducted for the new 3.18 MW Mawo Hydroelectric Power Plant in Brgy. Happy Valley, San Isidro, Northern Samar. This is a partnership between NORSAMELCO and EBATECH, and now registered as EBATECH NORSAMELCO ENERGY CORPORATION, which is anticipated to be completed and start operating by January 1, 2028.  The Mawo plant will connect directly to NORSAMELCO’s power system, reducing transmission costs, which could reduce electricity costs by P 0.4482 per kWh and make electricity cheaper for local consumers.  This project also will create jobs, with around 29 positions open for both skilled and unskilled workers during construction and once the plant is running. 7.91M SOCO BUILDING COMPLETED IN NSPPO

CATARMAN NORTHERN SAMAR/JUNE 15, 2024---The Department of Public Works and Highways Northern Samar First District Engineering Office officially turned over a new Multi-Purpose Building (SOCO Building) to the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office on June 5, 2023, at Camp Carlos Delgado in Catarman, Northern Samar.  The turnover ceremony was led by Assistant District Engineer Vivian G. Biaco of DPWH-NSFDEO, who handed over the building to the Director of the PNP Forensic Group, PBGEN Constancio T. Chinayog Jr.  The 7.91-million project involved the construction of a two-story Multi-Purpose Building with a total floor area of 212.67 square meters. The building includes an overhead tank, a PWD ramp with handrails, and a parapet wall on the roof deck, along with the removal of existing structures and obstructions. MOTHER ARRESTED FOR SELLING HER CHILD ONLINE IN NORTHERN SAMAR

CATRMAN NORTHERN SAMAR/JUNE 2, 2024--Cops rescued two minors, file raps against arrested mother for selling her child online on June 2. Based on the Police report, the suspect, who is 23 years old and a resident of Brgy. Laoangan, San Roque town, and the mother of the rescued minor victims were arranging transactions online through Facebook, offering to sell her two-month-old baby in exchange for cash amounting to 60K. The Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) personnel pretended to be interested in buying the child offered by the suspect online. The WCPC, together with the Women and Children Protection Desk of Police Regional Office 8, Catarman Municipal Police Station, in coordination with DOJ RATFF 8, and the Catarman Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, launched the operation at the agreed meeting place in Catarman, Northern Samar.  After completing the transaction,  the suspect was successfully arrested, and the victim was rescued the other two-year-old ...
